You're going to be busy
Training at The Language House Prague is quite intense. Expect to be busy most of the day learning all of the ins and outs of teaching English. Class begins each morning at 9:30. In the morning, there are two 90-min sessions covering all things related to methodology and teaching techniques. We move fast, so make sure to take notes and get the most out of these input sessions. Even the little things do add up in terms of your overall understanding of how to teach. The Language House Prague has a large variety of staff members and trainers. You won't be trained by one person, but about a half dozen trainers with all different quirks and personalities In the afternoon, we have lesson planning, followed by teaching practice in the evenings. Be prepared to be with us, at our location, for most of the day. Often times we get out of class at around 8:00 pm at night.

The Language House Prague is all about meeting people. If you read any of the glowing reviews of our course, it's hard to not pick up that community is a big slice of what people like about the program. Our class sizes are pretty large and we imagine that they'll stay that way in 2020. Our community approach to TEFL is only going to develop in 2020. So, expect more meetups, parties, social events, and cultural field trips.

In 2020, TLH is getting digital. In the past, most of our resources were in print form. This is getting completely revamped in 2020. What can you expect? Instead of a regular textbook, all materials are going into digital form. Students will get access to our online learning platform where they will have a clear and organized breakdown of each training session, with notes, handouts, and supplementary resources easily available. How cool is that? No more textbooks to sift through!
Get your whiteboard markers ready
Teaching practice and practice sessions were always paramount to The Language House Prague's curriculum. 2020 will bring the same quality teaching practice with a higher focus on using technology in the classroom. While many TEFL certification courses are going completely online, The Language House is doubling down on our in-class teaching components. This is how someone actually learns how to teach. You can't learn these skills online, unfortunately. Getting skilled in the classroom translates to finding better (and higher-paying) employment.
Job assistance has never been better
Speaking of employment... that's what this course is all about! In 2020, job assistance is going to be a streamlined process of putting TLH students in contact with hiring schools + graduates working in those locations. All of this happening in our new digital space. Every bit of job guidance all easily accessible online. Oh, we will still have multiple schools come in for presentations, along with individual help from our job coordinator, but all job-related material will be super easy to find and access.
Every teaching abroad question answered
We've got a new FB group called Pack Your Bags and Move to Prague. It's filled with past Language House TEFL Prague graduates to connect with. We'll still be available for personalized email support, but this new group allows a greater connection between new and old Language House students.

2020 is all about getting grads great teaching jobs all over the world + giving them the training to be successful in the classroom. The Language House TEFL Prague has always accomplished this, but we want to do more in 2020. Where do you want to work? We want to make that happen for you. This entails connecting you with country-specific emissaries (TLH grads who act as mentors) in nearly a dozen countries worldwide. The goal in 2020 is to expand this and improve it. Deciding to country hop is stressful. Sure, the idea of moving from country to country sounds like fun, but the realities are hard. With our emissaries + assistance, our goal is to make this process easy. Having people you can reach out to with experience in the location of your choice helps a lot.
