There are hundreds of reviews of The Language House Prague, but it's best to connect with graduates directly
This blog wouldn't be complete without a little plug of The Language House TEFL Prague. If you are considering taking a TEFL course, do yourself a favor and check out our TEFL course. If you peruse the internet, you can find hundreds of Language House Prague reviews along with videos, articles, stories, and blogs from our graduates. As we talk about below, positive reviews aren't enough though. Ideally, you'll want to connect with real people before taking the plunge and moving abroad.
Let's talk about the training. If you are looking to teach abroad, you will need to get a TEFL certificate so you know what to do in the classroom and to make you employable when you look for work. The Language House TEFL certificate course is hard, very hard, but you'll come out a confident and well-trained teacher. In my personal opinion, if you are going to do this while teaching abroad thing, take a course (even if it's not TLH) that has an actual live teaching component. So many courses these days are done through a computer screen. I don't believe it's possible to learn how to teach well that way.

The Language House TEFL is a great place of study
The world is filled with different TEFL certification courses. Depending on what your goals are, some are going to be better decisions than others. There are a few key features that have made TLH stand out from other companies. Yes, the training is fantastic, but what we offer is a lot more than that. If you were to ask our graduates what makes TLH special, they would say it is our community. Our course is more than just a 4-week program. Instead, it's a community of teachers and graduates living in Prague (and worldwide) that actively help and support each other. When you move to a foreign country, it's really nice to have this support network to lean on.

Is teaching abroad right for you?
Whether you are thinking of getting trained at The Language House TEFL or another program, the best course of action is to ask to get in contact with a dozen or so recent graduates of the course. This shouldn't be a problem at all for the TEFL/study abroad organization and you are in no way asking for anything out of the ordinary. Facebook/Instagram serve as a great validity check and a way to chat in real-time. Most companies understand the importance of positive reviews. The only problem is that it's easier than ever to manipulate reviews online. If you want to really find out if teaching abroad is right for you, do yourself a solid and connect with actual teachers out in the world teaching abroad. Their experience is the only way to tell if teaching abroad is the right choice for you or not.
Seriously, think about it. You are basically packing up your entire life and moving abroad with the hope your provider has got your back. You need to check to make sure they do, and it's not a lot to ask for. As mentioned, The Language House Prague has positive reviews all over the internet. Still, this isn't good enough. There is so much that goes into your success living/teaching abroad. Positive reviews of a TEFL/CELTA course isn't going to be enough. You need to find out if the experience itself is right for you.
In 2020, most established onsite TEFL certifications are going to be legit. It's pretty hard to fake things the way people could in the past. As long as a course has been around for a certain number of years, you can generally assume that they run a reputable business. Still though, whenever you are looking at reviews for a TEFL course or teaching abroad organization, it's always best to speak to people directly about their experience. With The Language House TEFL, we have hundreds of reviews online, but nothing beats speaking to a graduate directly.
